Lexington man surrenders after barricading himself in the bedroom, the daughter of the Lexington Herald Leader

Lombardi JJ Lieutenant police said the man, who was armed with a knife at least part time, negotiated with officers for about 30 minutes at a Lexington apartment, keeping her daughter on his lap, before giving up.

Police said the man, identified as Miguel Mesa, 25, is charged with endangering the welfare of a small, two-level attacks and possession of drugs.

About 8: 30 a.m., when officers were called to the apartment double tree Meade court they found that Mesa had barricaded themselves in the bedroom at the rear of the apartment with a knife and held her daughter.

Mesa spoke to the clerk and finally out to the living room, where he continues to hold children in lap up face-to-face negotiations with the officers resulted in the surrender, Lombardi said.
